I have no further knowledge of their request and my board has not met in regard to the IRV request to the state. I can tell you the seat for the Mayor of Hendersonville and two city council seats are up this fall. The council seats have traditionally been a vote for two. As filing will not begin until July 6th and run through July 17th at noon, I have no idea who the candidates will be until filing ends. Let me know if you need any further. Beverly W. On Marh 6, 2009 Hendersonville City Atty Samuel Fritschner sent a letter to the NC State Board of Elections advising the that the city wished to participate in the Instant Runoff Voting Pilot for the 2009 Municipal elections. Can you advise the following: Has the State Board of Elections approved Henderson Did the Henderson County Board of Elections hold a public meeting to discuss participating in the new Instant Runoff Voting Pilot Program? If so, how was this meeting announced to the public? Did the Henderson County Board of Elections voted to participate in the new Instant Runoff Voting Pilot? If the answer is yes, how did the Board of Elections Members vote, i.e who voted in favor, who voted against? Will the City of Henderson be holding elections for any multi seat contests in 2009? Who are the candidates running in the 2009 municipal elections? Have these candidates agreed to participate in an IRV election? Has the city council and or mayor voted to participate in an Instant Runoff Election for 2009? If so, did the Hendersonville City Council hold a public hearing about using IRV for 2009?
