The Help America Vote Act is Pushing States to Replace Their Voting Systems With the Newer Electronic Voting Machines. Currently, there are no touchscreen voting machines certified in North Carolina that produce a voter verified paper trail. All electronic voting machines in our state have "secret" (proprietary) source code that may not be examined by our election officials.
