S223, The Public Confidence in Elections Law was passed by the State Legislature in August, 2005
Counties had to comply with the law to have voter verified paper ballots in 2006. They were allowed to choose equipment after the State Board of Elections Certified approved systems. All systems must have at least 2002 federal certification.
